CLEAR FLOAT GLASS

Clear float glass is distortion-free, precision flat and transparent glass. It got its name (float) from the process required to produce it. The raw materials – such as silica sand, soda ash, limestone, potash and recycled glass – are melted together in the glass furnace. The molten glass mixture then flows through tweel to tin bath and since glass is lighter than tin, it floats to the top, forming an even layer on the surface. The glass then undergoes a cooling process during which it stabilizes and hardens. Because of its special processing technology and high-purity raw materials, float glass has no water ripples and impurities.
